What began as a bedroom community has grown very much over the years, and despite the wide spread damage that Hurricane Ike caused, The Woodlands has prospered and grown. You may think that The Woodlands is just one community, but it is made up of many small subdivisions, each with its own unique setting and design. It offers seven different world class golf courses, many different places of worship, and a medical facility with some of the best technologies that are usually only found in larger areas of population. It also has a regional concert venue, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, The Woodlands Resort, which has a four star rating, and even the Houston Museum of Natural Science has a satellite location at The Woodlands Mall.

The Woodlands has experienced a tremendous amount of growth. There are many high rise office building going up in the center of town, with condominiums going up close by for these employees to live. As much as you would think that the costs of living here would be extremely high, it is really no much more than anywhere else. The Woodlands is just 28 miles north of Houston and sits just off of Interstate 45.
