What attracts people and businesses to The Woodlands of Texas? The Woodlands started out as a bedroom community just over 80 miles north of Houston in 1972, with the first homes ready to move into by 1974. Macy's, Dillard's, JC Penny, and even Sears call this mall home. Even the Houston Museum of Natural Science has an annex here, a fully interactive Children's museum, with an abundance of hands on exhibits.
The Cynthia Woods Mitchell, a non profit organization for the performing arts, even has a grand pavilion, that has enough outdoor seating for over 100,000 people, in and among some of the finest Pine groves in the area. From classical to contemporary performances can be found here, from April to October. The WoodlandsWaterway Arts Festival, and juried festival, takes place the middle of every April.
